The National Museum of the Guild of American Papercutters continues to build a permanent collection of work donated by our members. Established in cooperation with Laurel Arts, the museum is located at the Phillip Dressler Center for the Arts, 214 South Harrison Avenue, Somerset, Pennsylvania. This is the first American museum devoted to the art of papercutting.
A special exhibit of works from the GAP permanent collection is on display in the downstairs galleries at the GAP Museum from mid-May to June 14, 2019. Visitors can expect to see the ceremonial 20-foot long red "Mouse Wedding" presented to the Guild for its inaugural event by the Chinese Papercutting Association. Small devotionals, created in monasteries and convents during the mid-18th century will be among the antique and contemporary treasures on view.
